Waar is de markt? - Rechts. - Where is the market? - To the right.

Wat koop je op de markt? - Ik koop kaas. Wanneer eet je? - ’s Avonds. - What do you buy at the market? - I buy cheese. When do you eat? - In the evening.

Practice

1. Choose the correct conversation completion: 'Hoe ga je naar de winkel?'"

2. Write in Dutch the conversation completion to 'Wat doe je ’s avonds?'": "I watch TV."

Cultural Note

In the Netherlands, short conversations often start with "Hoe heet je?" or "Wat doe je?" and flow naturally into routines or plans. Dutch people enjoy chatting about daily life!
