Practice

1. Choose the correct translation: "I buy coffee for breakfast."

2. Write in Dutch: "In the evening, I buy bread for dinner."

Cultural Note

In the Netherlands, shopping lists often include "brood" (bread) for "lunch" and "soep" (soup) for "avondeten" (dinner). "Koffie" (coffee) is a must for "ontbijt" (breakfast)—say "alsjeblieft" at the shop!
